Areas Include:

  1. Historic Lobby
The Historic Lobby takes you into the past with stunning historic chandeliers, antique mirrors, and grand staircase and a beautifully crafted bar covered in granite. This space has been used for cocktail receptions, continental breakfasts, awards ceremonies, and silent auctions!

  2. Promenade
Overlooking the Historic Lobby, the Promenade offers a larger function space with accents reminiscent of the 1920s. This area of the theatre was said to be the grandest in New England back in 1926 and we are proud to have restored it to its original glory again today. Autumn colors fill the space creating a warm atmosphere for your guests. The high ceilings and large chandeliers give the Promenade elegant grandeur. Portable bars are used in this area so that we can best accommodate your needs and floor plan. This area has been used for dinners of up to 200 people, awards ceremonies, breakfasts, luncheons, cocktail parties for up to 300, and corporate meetings.

  3. Mezzanine
The Mezzanine is a more private space overlooking the new lobby below. The Mezzanine is our most modern space and has wonderful views of downtown Worcester and Federal Square. In the evening, the park tree lights and the ornate fountain offer a beautiful backdrop for your event. This area also features portable bars and is available before a show for a private party. The Mezzanine has been used for corporate meetings, pre-show parties for up to 150, and breakfasts, luncheons, and dinners for up to 100.

  4. Franklin Square Salon
The Historic Franklin Square Salon is the only area of the building which remains from 1904. This charming room is typically only available to our VIPs before a show, but is now available for rental at other times. The room is fully furnished with a bar, two small sofas, coffee tables, and additional period-inspired seating. The Franklin Square Salon also features an alluring fireplace covered in the original 1904 green tiles and a large window securing the only remaining piece of stained glass from 1904. Although small, this space is perfect for a private meeting, intimate party, or even a holiday dinner with friends and family!

  5. The Hanover Theatre Stage
The stage at The Hanover Theatre is our most creative space. Whether you are planning an elegant wedding reception or a rockin' birthday party, we can transform our stage to suit your needs. On stage, you'll find the best view of the theatre, staring out at 17 crystal chandeliers, including our famous seven-foot grand chandelier with 6,000 crystals. Our guests find the idea of hosting their event on stage at the theatre is an experience that cannot compare to any other venue. With state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology, we are capable of creating the ultimate experience for you and your guests. In addition to commencements, recitals, concerts, and Broadway shows, we have hosted receptions, galas, birthday parties, live auctions, cocktail parties, and even private concerts on our stage. The stage can accommodate a dinner reception for up to 270, but if you're looking to accommodate a greater number of guests, we have the option of building an extension onto the stage. With this additional extension, you could even host a dinner under the grand chandelier and all of your guests could sit back and enjoy their meal as the curtain rose on a concert, awards ceremony, or private performance!
