Dismas House fundraiser at Chieftains concert

March 21, 2010

Dismas House held a fundraiser March 9 at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts in Worcester, where The Chieftains, six-time Grammy award winners, performed traditional Irish music with a Mexican flair. The event included performances by the Worcester Fire Brigade Pipe and Drums Corps, and local Irish Step dancers from the McInerney School of Irish Dance in Auburn. Hanover Theatre founder Edward P. Madaus presented frontman Paddy Moloney of the Chieftains with his second key to the city on behalf of Mayor Joseph O'Brien. Proceeds benefited Dismas House, a supportive community that provides transitional housing and services to former prisoners and real-life educational opportunities to students from area colleges.
