‘Beauty & The Beast’ tickets help combat domestic abuse

March 2, 2010

TELEGRAM AND GAZETTE STAFF

New Hope Inc., a nonprofit agency working to end domestic violence, is inviting area residents to “be our guest” at the May 1 matinee of “Disney’s Beauty & The Beast” at Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts in Worcester. New Hope is selling premium seats to the show, with proceeds to support the agency’s programs to combat domestic and sexual violence.

New Hope has a limited number of seats that normally sell for $62.50, including taxes and fees. New Hope’s requested price is $75, which includes a donation to the agency and admission to a post-show reception featuring Disney-themed items, raffles and giveaways, kids’ contests and projects and a chance to win four Park Hopper Passes to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

Tickets must be purchased through New Hope by March 8, and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. To order tickets, visit www.new-hope.org or call (508) 226-4015.

The agency’s programs include two in Worcester — Supervised Visitation Program and RESPECT Batterer’s Intervention Program. New Hope services also include a 24-hour domestic violence and sexual assault hotline, two emergency shelters, counseling services, court-based legal advocacy programs, safety planning, a transitional living program and education and outreach services. The agency serves 54 cities and towns throughout Central and Southeastern Massachusetts.
