When the doomed lovers Tony and Maria sang “Tonight” early in the proceedings, the thought “Too Nice” came to mind. They looked and sounded like a young couple with no real issues before them, perhaps not even love. By the end of the first act, however, the production had some how found more edge and a set piece performance of “Tonight” leading up to a gang rumble had genuine force.

The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts, along with media partner 96.1 WSRS, are teaming up to break the record for the most Santa hats worn in one location in central New England at its opening night performance of A Christmas Carol on Saturday, December 15 at 7pm. Santa hats will be provided by WSRS and distributed to attendees before the performance.

“A Christmas Carol has become a family favorite, and now in its fifth year, we wanted to do something special to commemorate this important milestone,” said executive director Troy Siebels. “It’ll be quite a spectacle looking out into an audience of 2,300 Santa hats!”
