Three Broadway spectacles mark the first season of the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts

The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts has announced the first three shows of its “Broadway at the Hanover” series.
The national touring productions of “Hairspray,” “Stomp” and “Jesus Christ Superstar” will appear at the newly renovated 2,300-seat theater in March, April and May, respectively.

Where The Hanover Theatre goes, it seems, the neighborhood follows. With a spring opening looming for the theatre at Federal Square, the city is looking at making some key improvements to the surrounding area.

The developer-owner of the $30.4 million Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts is seeking a seven-year break deal from the city so it can pour back into the project the estimated $2.7 million in tax savings that would be generated.
